Over the winter (November to March, inclusive) I put 64SAINT away in winter storage at Concours Cars. Although I’d not done this before, the reason for putting it away this past winter was pretty mundane: we only have a two car garage for three cars and I was getting tired of cleaning the snow and ice off my Audi (that’s the car that’s left outside when the Volvo is parked in the garage).
Despite the enforced “vacation”, it drove beautifully this lunchtime when I collected it. I celebrated by driving up to Cascade and back: no hesitation at all from the engine and it seemed as if it were anxious to race up the pass. As I realized when I started it up, I’ve missed it no end over this past five months. I plan though to drive all over the place this spring and summer: the car is 50 years old this year (it was built and registered in 1964) and I’m going to commemorate the occasion. Expect some new photo shoots!
